ARBOR VALLEY USBC HISTORY

Bowling Centers

In 1958 there were 14 bowling centers in the association.

In 1961 there were 21 bowling centers in the association.

In 1980 there were 17 bowling centers in the association.

Today there are 8 bowling centers in the association.


Brighton Bowl is the oldest center in our association opening in 1948.

The old Pinckney Lanes was originally called La Rosa Bowl.

The Scores

In 1958 the high average was 200.

In 1969 the high average was 210.


During the 59-60 season there was one 300 game by Jim Mynning.

Up to 1975 there was eleven 300 games recorded in the association.

The 85-86 season saw an increase in scores with 

18-300 games and 7-299 games.

During the 05-06 season there were 126-300 games thrown.

The Awards

The first Director of the Year Award was awarded to 

Ralph Huntley in 1986.

The first Secretary of the Year Award was awarded to 

Willard "Peck" Curtis in 1982.

The first Volunteer of the Year Award was awarded to 

Deb Tuck and David Trim in 2023.

The current age for the oldest bowler to roll a perfect game(300) 

is 83 years and 1 month and belongs to 

Robert (Bob) Hall on 10/30/20
